the blog rises up from the ashes

When I first made this blog, the year was 2002 and I was living in Seattle, WA.  I must have done it on a whim, or at the request of a high-techie friend of mine, and then I promptly forgot all about it.  That was nine and a half years ago.  Lets see how I do this time around.
